A Little About Jim

James (Jim) Hubbard

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated from the New England Conservatory with a Vocal Performance Degree and Vocal Pedagogy Degree, Jim wound up in South Korea after being drafted towards the end of the Vietnam War era in 1972.  Jim fell in love with the country and learned to speak Korean as well as the native speakers.

Jim has performed in the US and Korea countless times in many operas, concerts, musicals in many venues throughout the USA, including, Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, etc. Performed with: Seiji Ozawa, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Fiedler, Gunther Schuller, Arthur Berger, Gunther Schuller, Gyorgy Ligyti, Daniel Pinckham, James Levine, et al.

In South Korea, Jim worked with several TV broadcast stations including KBS, MBC, CBS, PBS, and more where he hosted his own shows and performed on countless others.

Currently Jim keeps busy as a Classical Vocalist, University Professor and Lecturer, TV & Radio Broadcaster, Artistic Director, and Seoul National Symphony Orchestra.  Jim is a Founding Partner/Chairman, Jiminiworld Incorporated, and Partner/Writer/Theorist/Composer/Lyricist for Musical English.

Jim has studied 8 languages, performed professionally in over 70 languages and developed the three main theories that are the foundation of Musical English:  THE, TBE, SALT.

Jim has or still holds teaching positions at Jung-Ang University, Pyongteak University, Megastudy, Samgwang, TLBU & Gwangsung International Schools, Countless master classes in classical singing, American Diction & Pronunciation, early childhood education.
